Let's take a look at some of the key new openings and announcements this week for the catering industry.

Hoi Polloi to open at Ace Hotel, London

Pablo Flack and David Waddington - the team responsible Bistrotheque and Shrimpy's - are soon to open their latest restaurant at the Ace Hotel.

Entitled Hoi Polloi, the all day restaurant and bar is being described as a 'modernist brasserie'. The restaurant is set to seat 100 while the bar, aimed at non-reservation eating and dining, will seat a further 50.

It is set to offer breakfast, lunch and dinner, with afternoon tea and evening drinks also available.
Hoi Polloi is set to open October 3rd.

Kai Wang opens dim sum restaurant in Chelsea

Dim sum expert Kai Wang is opening a new restaurant and tea house in Chelsea.

Called Bo Lang, it will cover sixty people and is also set to offer a high quality experience upon opening, with a restaurant interior designed by Shaun Clarkson. The style is heavily Asian inspired with velvet covered chairs and wooden screens. Since no expense seems to be spared, the catering kitchen equipment might also prove equally impressive.

The restaurant is aiming to offer a variety of dim sum dishes in addition to traditional dishes and light salads. The focus very much seems to be on cultural food from across Asia, such as Chinese mochi rice cake. Drinks will include eastern-inspired cocktails as well as rare iced teas.

Bo Lang will open in the middle of September.

Vinotech to launch fourth restaurant in London

Vinotech is to open it's fourth restaurant in the Chiswick area of London.

The location will be able to handle approximately 50 guests, which includes 20 stools by the long bar for casual dining. Around half of the seats will be left for customers to dine without a reservation.

The new site comes from Brett Woonton, Charlie Young and Elena Ares - the people behind previous Vinoteca businesses in Farringdon, Soho and Marylebone. Speaking previously on the fourth development, they said: "After three sites in central London locations, Vinoteca is excited to have been able to secure a fantastic little site in Chiswick."

Kudos launching 'Haute Dog' vans

Harrogate is to experience gourmet hot dogs as Kudos brings the first of its 'Haute Dog' vans out. While it's not exactly a restaurant, it is a form of catering none the less.

Kudos - part of the Crown group - plans to offer a range of hot dogs from its 1940s Citroen H Van fitted out with all the necessary kitchen equipment. These options include the New York with apple, parsley and cardamom, the "Haute Hottie" with cheese, paprika, onions and chilli alongside the more traditional "Dirty Dawg" with American mustard, gherkin and chilli.

Managing director of Kudos Jon Pryce said: "We have been trialling the concept for a number of months to ensure we have the right balance of bread, meat and sauces. The choice of the Citroen H Van was key to completing the concept and we are now ready to hit the streets."ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801634491-ADNFCR
