Asian food franchise Wok&Go is looking for locations to open a series of new restaurants.

It has instructed global property consultants Cushman & Wakefield to begin a search to find suitable sites to open ten venues throughout the UK.

The company currently has two outlets in Chester and the same number in both Liverpool and Nottingham, as well as single restaurants in Birmingham, Hull and Leeds.

Cushman & Wakefield's search will focus on acquiring sites on the edge of prime retail units in high-footfall locations such as shopping centres, high streets and quality retail parks.

Once the sites have been purchased, there will be an opportunity for a catering equipment supplier to provide facilities for the venues.

Wok&Go was formed in 2007 by former financial analyst Des Pheby.

It offers a fusion of Thai, Malaysian, Chinese, Japanese and Indonesian food in the form of cooked-to-order noodles, curries, soups and rice meals.

"Wok&Go is a premium-quality brand, which has established itself very well since opening its first store in Chester only six years ago," said Matt Illingworth, a partner in Cushman & Wakefield's Retail team.

He added: "There is clearly widespread appeal of the product as a healthy and convenient hot food offer and Cushman & Wakefield is looking forward to working closely with Des Pheby and his team to secure locations, which will enable this business to build on its success and extend its UK reach."

Mr Pheby commented: "We look forward to working with Cushman & Wakefield to find the best commercial properties for our stores as we expand."

David Chubb, PwC business recovery partner and hospitality and leisure specialist, said restaurants have had a good quarter and the culture of eating out now seems to be built into the UK consumer psyche.  ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801574455-ADNFCR
