The Burger & Lobster restaurant chain is to launch its fifth venue in London.

It will install catering equipment at the new site on the fifth floor of Harvey Nichols in the Knightsbridge area of the capital and it is set to open in October.

Owned by the Goodman Restaurant Group, the Burger & Lobster chain is unique in that it offers a menu containing just three dishes - a handmade burger in brioche bun, lobster roll in brioche bun with Japanese mayonnaise or a whole live lobster served with clarified or garlic butter. Each of these options also comes with chips and salad.

The new venue will join the brand's four other London outlets, which are located in Mayfair, Soho, Faringdon and the City.

Goodman also runs the restaurant chain of the same name, which specialises in New-York-style steak. It has outlets in Mayfair, the City and Canary Wharf, as well as Moscow and Zurich.

Another capital venue that is set to open soon is Koya bar. The new outlet will be situated next to the existing Koya Japanese restaurant on Frith Street in central London.

Launching on September 2nd, the bar will serve a variety of lunch and dinner dishes and is to function as a separate business. It will also include a Japanese take on the British classic fish and chips. Many of the ingredients used at the venue will be fresh produce sourced from UK farmers.

Talking about the new venture, Koya co-founder John Devitt commented: "In the beginning, Shuko, Junya [the company's other founders] and I had a vision to establish an authentic Japanese Udon restaurant, with a London slant.

"With Koya Bar opening next door, Shuko gets to embrace a more typical Udon bar offering, whilst Junya continues to challenge our customers at Koya.”

These new openings will be welcome news for catering equipment suppliers and are further evidence of the strength of the London restaurant scene.ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801628058-ADNFCR
