Two new restaurants earmarked for Liverpool One

Liverpool One - the leisure and retail project known as the biggest regeneration scheme of its kind in Europe - has named two new restaurant groups that will be opening outlets in the city.

Burger chain Byron and all-day brasserie concept Brown's are currently installing restaurant equipment in their respective sites, and are aiming to open to customers in the spring of 2013.

The 42-acre area already hosts around 20 bars and a number of different restaurants, with around £1 billion invested in the huge project since its inception.

Liverpool One aimed to link the city once again with its famous waterfront by vastly expanding Liverpool's shopping district, and began in 2008 to coincide with the celebrations organised for the European Capital of Culture awarded to the city.

Indicating the appeal generated by the project, this will mark the first time Byron has expanded into the north-west.

Brown's will be opening its second restaurant in the region but its first in Liverpool.

Miles Dunnett, head of asset management at site developer Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, expressed his pleasure at securing two such prestigious names to boost the site's leisure offering.

"Byron and Brown's are fantastic additions to Liverpool One's line-up of leading dining brands. They provide even more choice, enhance Liverpool One's premium offer and further increase its appeal for visitors living in the expanding outer catchment," he added.

Tom Byng, founder of Byron, said the new establishment will serve as a good hub for his planned expansion into the rest of the north-west.

The London-based firm launched its first site in 2007, with Mr Byng suggesting that there was a gap in the market for simple but good-quality American-style burgers - a trend that has gained a great deal of traction in the capital in recent years, with numerous new restaurants serving food along these lines.ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801528799-ADNFCR
