East Belfast is set to witness the opening of a new pizzeria by established brand Greens at the end of this month.

Set to be situated on Upper Newtowns Road, the Belfast Telegraph reports the new premises will feature the latest in kitchen equipment and are set to provide employment for up to 25 members of staff.

Founded by partners Manus McConn and William Clark in 1995, the chain has been highly commended in the past in the best hospitality category of the Belfast Business Awards and the pair now hope to build on this success with their new offering.

"Our aim is to give the people of this area the high standards of food and service and the ambience that makes Greens such a special place in which to work and to visit," commented Mr Clark.

Mr McConn added: "We are very excited about this development. The Ballyhackamore area has seen a lot of new business development recently and has played a valuable role in the city's resurgence."

He noted the restaurant has built a loyal following over the last 17 years and the partners now hope to spread their high-quality food to a new market and see even more people enjoying fresh pizza in colourful, stimulating surroundings - with bespoke pieces of art from renowned painter Neil Shawcross to adorn the walls of the premises.

The new restaurant will cover approximately 1,300 sq ft and will comfortably seat 50 guests, with diners invited to head along from 19:30 to be seated.

It will be open seven nights a week and all day Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays to serve hungry patrons. The management at Greens pride themselves on only using the best and freshest ingredients, while the service at the restaurant is second to none in the city.

The restaurant's owners also operate Cafe Conor on Belfast's Stranmillis Road.ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801528023-ADNFCR
