Peach Pub to enter Birmingham

The Peach Pub company has revealed plans to open a new venue in Birmingham.

A property on Highfield Road in Edgbaston has been selected for development and will represent the group's first move into the UK's second city.

More than £1 million is to be spent on the site, which will require new commercial catering equipment for its 100-cover eatery that is expected to provide all-day dining. The new venue will also include a spacious bar and garden.

It has been named the Highfield Townhouse and is set to be managed by Spencer Graydon, Peach operations director, who lives on the outskirts of Birmingham.

He commented: "I'm thrilled that we’re here building our next Peach gastropub right on my doorstep and can’t wait to see it open and packed with people including everyone I know locally having a great time."

Mr Graydon added that the venue's location and the timing of its opening will be "just right" and contribute to making it a success.

"I can personally vouch for the energy and enthusiasm we’ll put into making sure it does - it's going to be my local, after all," he stated.

Lee Cash, the co-founder of Peach, said the company is going to work alongside property investors Calthorpe Estates to bring their vision of the Highfield Townhouse to life.

He claimed the businesses want to create a venue that will be at "the heart" of the local community and provide a place where residents can go and meet their friends and colleagues in a relaxed environment.

Mr Cash believes the Peach ethos fits with this vision perfectly and he said the company is prepared to make a substantial investment in the venue as it is its first in Birmingham and "we're excited to be here".

The Highfield Townhouse will be Peach's 17th venue and joins its existing portfolio of pubs in the Midlands and southern England. It aims to make each of it sites unique to the area in which it is located.ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801599061-ADNFCR
