The restaurant group Bumpkin will launch its fourth venue in London in June.

It will open the site on Sydney Street in Chelsea, following the success of its restaurants in Notting Hill, South Kensington and its kitchen, bar and grill in Westfield Stratford City.

The 187-cover new venue will be set in a Georgian townhouse and spread across three floors. It will contain a 'secret garden' and private dining room - the Botany Club.

"This is an exciting time for Bumpkin, with plans in the pipeline to expand to 20 venues across the UK within the next five years," commented Tina English, managing director of Ignite, which owns the Bumpkin brand.

"I’m delighted to be opening our fourth site in Chelsea. It’s a great location and we’re confident that our traditional British menu and beautiful outdoor space will be a hit with both visitors and local residents," she added.

Another venue that will require new catering equipment is the Aux Pains de Papy bakery that is set to open in London.

Leisure agent Shelley Sandzer has completed the acquisition of a site on Grays Inn Road in the capital on behalf of the French company, which is run by Mathieu Esposito.

The business has acquired the ground floor and basement, totalling 1,003 sq ft, on a ten-year full repairing and insuring lease, Eat Out Magazine reports.

The move represents the first UK activity for the French chain, which will operate as a high-end rustic bakery, with a supporting retail element. The company previously ran six branches across the South of France, which it has now sold.

Joshua Rose of Shelley Sandzer said: “This is the first site for Aux Pains de Papy in London and will prove popular with the midtown office crowd looking for well made, well presented delicacies.

"As consumers are becoming more discerning, there has been a demand for high end, quality bakeries, which Aux Pains de Papys certainly fills."ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801586925-ADNFCR
