Koh set to expand

Koh, the south coast restaurant chain offering a menu of Thai Tapas dishes, is set to expand into Portsmouth.

Having established two successful eateries in Bournemouth, the company will further its reach by opening a third venue in the Southsea area early next month.

It also has plans to launch more new restaurants in southern England, with locations such as Brighton, Southampton, Bath, Bristol and Oxford considered for future openings.

Koh's order of catering supplies looks set to increase significantly in future, as it intends to add another three to five eateries to the chain by 2014.

"We're delighted with our success to date and we are now thrilled to be bringing Thai Tapas to Portsmouth," said Andrew Lennox, one of the chain's directors.

"We firmly believe that Koh Thai Tapas is a style of cuisine that everyone will love and we're so pleased to have invested in our third restaurant in Southsea."

The first Koh Thai Tapas restaurant opened on Christchurch Road in the Boscombe area of Bournemouth in 2008, with the second venue appearing in the town's Soho Quarter last year.

Success has come quickly for Koh, which was named restaurant of the year at the Bournemouth Tourism Awards in 2010.

The eatery aims to provide a twist on traditional Thai cooking by combining it with the Spanish concept of tapas, which involves a group of diners sharing many small dishes between them.

According to the Koh website, its menu offers "innovative yet classic Thai cuisine of the highest calibre", along with "European ideals of relaxed dining and the tantalising option to sample a little of everything".

To add to its list of achievements, Koh was recently named as a 'reader recommended' restaurant in the 2013 edition of the Good Food Guide. It is one of just four Bournemouth eateries to feature in the publication.ADNFCR-16001031-ID-801496764-ADNFCR
